Terms of Service

This is a draft written to be genuinely useful, not a substitute for a lawyer reviewing it against your actual situation and jurisdiction — especially once real money and real user data are involved. 1. Who this agreement is with
thoughtnet is operated by [YOUR NAME OR BUSINESS NAME] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using thoughtnet, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. Accounts
You need an account to post. You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use thoughtnet. One account per person — don't create accounts to get around a suspension or a quota.
3. Your content
What you post — thoughts, questions, answers — stays yours. By posting it, you give us the license we need to store it, display it to other users, and process it through the matching engine (which sends the text to OpenAI to generate an embedding — see the Privacy Policy for what that means). You can delete your own thoughts, questions, and answers at any time from their page.
Don't post anything illegal, anything that harasses or threatens another person, spam, or content you don't have the right to post. We can remove content that violates this, with or without a report from another user — see "Moderation" below.
4. Subscriptions
Free, Pro, and Enterprise plans are described on the pricing page. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel or switch plans at any time from the billing portal (linked from the pricing page once you're subscribed) — cancelling stops future renewals but doesn't refund the current billing period. We don't store your card details; Stripe handles that.
5. Advertising
Anyone can book a paid ad placement through /advertise. Every ad is reviewed before it goes live. If we reject it, you're refunded in full automatically — we don't keep payment for an ad that didn't run. We can reject or later remove an ad for any reason, including but not limited to: illegal content, malware or phishing links, content misrepresenting what's being advertised, or content that violates section 3 above. Booking a placement doesn't guarantee any particular number of views or outcome.
6. Moderation
Any signed-in user can report a thought, question, or answer. We review reports and may remove content that violates these terms. Removal is permanent — we don't keep a hidden copy. We may also suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these terms.
7. No warranty, limited liability
thoughtnet is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the matching engine's connections are accurate. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
8. Changes
We may update these terms as the service changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use thoughtnet after a change means you accept the updated terms.
